Although Fantastic Beasts has covered an important part of the history of the Wizarding World， it hasn’t had the same success and impact as the Harry Potter saga。 All three Fantastic Beasts movies sit at the bottom of the box office list of the Wizarding World movies， with The Secrets of Dumbledore being the lowest-grossing one。

Back in 2016， Rowling herself announced that Fantastic Beasts would be a saga with five movies， covering events from Wizarding World history between 1926 and 1945。 However， after the failures of The Crimes of Grindelwald and The Secrets of Dumbledore， the future of the saga became unclear。 It was believed that a fourth movie would depend on how well The Secrets of Dumbledore performed at the box office， but that might have not been the only contributing factor。
